Garphyttan was founded in 2020 by Johan Skullman and an experienced team within outdoor retail. Garphyttan is founded on the ideas of the Swedish countryside where the boundary between work and leisure blurs and merges.

Our goal is to create a clothing collection that blurs the boundaries between these different areas and inspires you to push your own limits, whether it's in nature or in everyday life.

About Johan Skullman
Johan Skullman is a survival expert and an icon in the outdoor world. With over 30 years of experience as an officer and field operator in the Swedish Armed Forces, he has been responsible for field tests, requirements, and specifications for soldiers' protective equipment and clothing.
After his military career, Johan has worked for over a decade as a product developer and consultant for some of the leading Nordic outdoor brands.
As the founder and product developer at Garphyttan, Johan designs all our clothes based on his own requirements when he is active himself.

Since our inception in 2020, we have been providing our amazing customers around the world with clothing that inspires adventure, work, and everyday life. We are also incredibly proud that several of our products have been honored with awards. Both our Specialist Fleece and Crafter Insulated Shirt were named "Best Workwear" in Outside Magazine's prestigious 'Winter Gear Guide for 2023'. It is a confirmation of our commitment to quality and functionality in every garment we create.
Not to mention that Garphyttan as a company has been selected as "Newcomer of the Year" in Sportfack magazine's "Gear of the Year" competition. Receiving this award is an honor and proof of our commitment to constantly improve and exceed expectations.

Our collection, which is divided into three distinct product lines - Crafter, Original and Specialist - comprises a versatile ensemble of clothing that offers a tailored solution for every occasion and purpose. Each series has its own unique features and benefits, providing you with a wide spectrum of applications to explore and enjoy. Whether you're looking for classic style, durable workwear, or advanced technology for extreme conditions, our collection has something for you.
The Crafter series is designed for outdoor work with durable construction and thoughtful design to carry tools and equipment. The series is developed with professionals in mind within construction, carpentry, gardening, forestry, repairs, and maintenance. The materials are comfortable with stretch properties and practical features that facilitate the task.
The Original series embraces the historical and traditional perspective that has led to timeless classics such as Anorak, Smock, Parka, and Cargo Pants. Garphyttan has modernized these garments with colors and features rooted in the natural palette and following traditional utility perspectives.
The Specialist series is designed for use in activities with higher levels of intensity, featuring features for moisture and heat regulation. Garphyttan combines modern materials to create technical products that are both durable and lightweight. Products from the Specialist series meet high standards and are adapted for a range of applications, such as hiking and cross-country skiing.
Garphyttan - A Classic Industrial Community
Garphyttan is a classic industrial community in the Örebro municipality. Nearby lies Garphyttans National Park, one of Sweden's oldest national parks. It was established in 1909 when the Swedish Parliament set aside land for nine national parks, the first in Europe.
Our name, Garphyttan, symbolizes the old industrial community with life on farms and work in the forest and fields. In the old industrial community, the boundaries between work and leisure, human and nature, indoor and outdoor, were not as clear as they are today. This forms the basis for what we stand for at Garphyttan. That's why we are named as we are.
Our name is simply a tribute to the countryside and to all the venerable industrial communities where Swedish industrialization and our export successes once began.
